Drow Ranger + Ember Spirit

Why this works

Trying to close the gap on Drow Ranger is difficult when an Ember Spirit is running interference. Ember can jump on key targets and pin them down with Searing Chains, creating a perfect target for Drow to attack from a safe distance. While he's causing chaos, his Flame Guard also soaks up some of the spells that might otherwise be aimed at her. In return, Drow's Frost Arrows can make it easier for Ember to land his abilities and stick to a target, creating a simple lockdown and damage combo if the enemy isn't prepared for it.

This whole plan depends on the enemy team letting Ember Spirit dictate the engagement. A coordinated opponent with good initiation can often ignore Ember and dive straight onto the Drow Ranger, disabling her Marksmanship and bursting her down. The combo shines when Ember can draw attention and create space, but it falls apart if he gets controlled early or if the enemy team simply has too many ways to get into the backline. It often comes down to which side can execute their game plan first.
