Drow Ranger + Kunkka

Why this works

Setting up kills with Kunkka's combo of X Marks the Spot into Torrent or Ghostship gives Drow Ranger a clear, stationary target to unload on. The theory is sound, as any lockdown is good for a damage dealer. However, the synergy often stops there. Kunkka excels at catching multiple heroes in his area-of-effect stuns, but Drow's damage is primarily single-target. She can't fully capitalize on a multi-hero Ghostship combo the way a hero with strong area damage can. The setup is reliable, but it doesn't amplify Drow's kit in a special way; it's a generic stun for a generic right-clicker.

Across the game, this pairing can feel disconnected. Drow Ranger wants to play from the edges of the fight, maintaining distance to keep her Marksmanship active and kiting enemies with Frost Arrows. Kunkka, on the other hand, often needs to get closer to land his full combo and contribute Tidebringer cleaves. This can lead to scattered teamfights where Kunkka creates an opportunity in one spot, but Drow is busy dealing with a different threat somewhere else. They don't enable a singular, cohesive game plan, making their combined impact inconsistent from one fight to the next.
