Drow Ranger + Muerta

Why this works

Positioning Drow Ranger next to Muerta provides a clear benefit on paper. Drow's Marksmanship grants bonus Agility to nearby ranged allies, and Muerta gets a welcome boost to her attack speed and damage from it. The awkwardness comes when Muerta uses her ultimate, Pierce the Veil. During this time, her attacks convert to magical damage. While the Agility from Drow still gives her attack speed and its damage component is converted, it creates a split focus. Drow's team typically builds around amplifying physical damage with items and abilities that reduce armor, none of which help Muerta during her most powerful teamfight spell.

This means that while the two can help each other farm faster, their big teamfight cooldowns don't fully align. Drow Ranger wants to be the centerpiece of a sustained physical damage assault, while Muerta’s ultimate creates a window of purely magical burst. Often, this forces the enemy to adapt to two different damage types, but it also means neither hero is getting the full, focused support they need to take over a fight. Since both heroes also require significant farm and prefer similar positions in a fight, they can end up competing for resources without providing the lockdown or setup the other needs.
