Drow Ranger + Omniknight

Why this works

Pairing Omniknight with Drow Ranger looks good on paper for protecting a fragile carry. A well-timed Guardian Angel can negate the physical burst that often jumps Drow, and Heavenly Grace can purge a key stun, letting her kite freely. This setup can allow Drow Ranger to keep Marksmanship active and output her full damage without being immediately focused down. However, Omniknight’s most impactful abilities have long cooldowns. If the enemy baits out his ultimate or has enough spell damage to bypass his buffs, Drow is left vulnerable once more. The protection is powerful but temporary.

This lane's success often depends on opponents' ability to play around those key cooldowns. A smart enemy will try to poke, disengage when Guardian Angel is cast, and then re-initiate once the effect is gone. Since neither Drow nor Omniknight offers much reliable lockdown to force an engagement on their terms, they are often playing reactively. The outcome hinges on whether Omniknight can get the perfect ultimate off during a critical teamfight, which is far from guaranteed. The partnership has its moments but lacks the consistency to be a truly dominant combination.
