Drow Ranger + Slark

Why this works

Pairing these two carries relies on a specific kind of tempo, as Slark gets no benefit from Drow Ranger's Marksmanship aura. The link between them is instead their combined control. A successful Pounce from Slark creates a perfect target for Drow to apply Frost Arrows and follow up with heavy physical damage from the backline. In return, Drow's Gust can protect a diving Slark from disables or prevent his target from fighting back. It's a relationship built on creating pick-off opportunities rather than a direct buff.

The game plan often involves creating two separate threats. Slark acts as a hunter, finding solo kills and causing chaos, which creates the space Drow Ranger needs to position safely and hit towers or teamfight targets. A major challenge is their conflicting positioning: Slark wants to be deep in the enemy's formation while Drow wants to be far away from it.
