Drow Ranger + Weaver

Why this works

Pairing two ranged physical cores seems like it should create overwhelming damage, but the reality is different. Drow Ranger and Weaver are both fragile heroes who need space and a strong frontline to be effective. When they're on the same team, they often lack a durable core to stand between them and the enemy. This pairing also has very little lockdown. Without reliable stuns to hold a target in place, enemies can often survive Drow's Frost Arrows or simply reposition before Weaver can finish them off.

Early on, this duo can feel fine while they occupy separate lanes. The problems start when teamfights break out. Both heroes want to stand at the back and attack, but neither can initiate or peel for the other effectively. The enemy team can run straight at them. Weaver might survive with Time Lapse and Drow can try to create distance with Gust, but they spend more time trying to stay alive than killing priority targets. They end up playing reactively, unable to set the pace of a fight.
