Drow Ranger + Windranger

Why this works

Having both Drow Ranger and Windranger on a team can create a strain on the map's resources, as both heroes want a lot of farm to come online. Their kits also have a similar focus. Drow needs a durable frontline so she can position safely and use Marksmanship, but the agile Windranger doesn't offer that kind of protection. While Windranger benefits from Drow's damage aura, they both excel at bursting down a single, isolated target. The issue is that they lack a simple, reliable way to lock that target down themselves, often preferring someone else to initiate the fight.

This tension makes mid-game teamfights feel fragile. Without a clear initiator, the team can be passive and easy to pick apart. An enemy lineup with strong gap-close can focus and eliminate Drow Ranger before she has an impact. Windranger can use Windrun to escape danger, but she can't easily peel for her carry or create space for the team. For this pairing to work, the other heroes have to provide all the initiation and durability, or one of them needs to get so far ahead that their normal weaknesses don't matter as much.
