Earthshaker + Pangolier

Why this works

Setting up a teamfight can be awkward for this pair. The main issue comes from trying to combine Rolling Thunder with Earthshaker's spells. A poorly placed Fissure can easily trap an allied Pangolier, stopping his momentum or blocking his escape. Their stuns also have a tendency to overlap, wasting lockdown duration that could be spent on separate targets. While both heroes offer a lot of control, their methods for applying it can clash in the middle of a fight, leading to clumsy execution where one hero’s spell negates the other's.

This friction extends to their broader teamfight goals. Pangolier often wants to roll in and scatter the enemy team, causing disruption and singling out a backliner. Earthshaker, on the other hand, is looking for that perfect moment when enemies are clumped together for a huge Echo Slam. Pangolier's initiation can actively work against Earthshaker's ideal setup. While a coordinated team might find ways to use Fissure to box enemies in for Rolling Thunder, it’s an unreliable plan that requires more effort than simply pairing these heroes for their individual strengths.
