Earthshaker + Pugna

Why this works

Picking these two heroes together forces a choice on how to secure kills. Earthshaker’s stuns provide a perfect setup for Pugna to land Nether Blast or a full Life Drain channel. During larger fights, Pugna’s Decrepify can also amplify the magic damage from an Echo Slam, making a good initiation even better. The core conflict, however, is that Decrepify makes a target immune to physical damage. This completely negates Earthshaker's own follow-up burst from Enchant Totem, turning a potential pickoff into a saved enemy if the timing is wrong.

Success with this pairing depends entirely on team coordination and target priority. A disciplined team can use Decrepify to amplify the slam or save the Earthshaker after he jumps in, while he focuses his totem on a different physical-vulnerable target. But in chaotic teamfights, it's very common for Pugna to accidentally use Decrepify on the exact enemy his Earthshaker is trying to kill. Because their abilities can directly cancel each other out without careful execution, the duo doesn't create a consistent advantage.
