Earthshaker + Weaver

Why this works

Getting caught by a long-range Fissure feels dangerous, but the follow-up from Weaver isn't the burst damage that usually secures a kill. Earthshaker provides a great setup for heroes who can unload their entire kit in a few seconds. Weaver, however, deals his damage over time with repeated attacks and Shukuchi passes. The stun duration from Earthshaker's combo often ends before Weaver can apply enough sustained damage to bring down a healthy target, letting them use their own defensive abilities or simply walk away.

This disconnect continues into larger teamfights. Earthshaker is looking for the perfect Blink-in Echo Slam on a clumped-up team. Weaver thrives in chaotic, spread-out fights where he can use his mobility to attack isolated targets from the flanks and safely Time Lapse if he gets focused. Their game plans don't fully align. While a Fissure can certainly help Weaver stick to a target, the duo lacks the overwhelming kill threat that makes other lane partners so effective, leading to setups that fizzle out more than you'd expect.
