Earthshaker + Windranger

Why this works

Setting up a long-range Shackleshot with Fissure sounds like a solid kill plan, but these heroes often have conflicting ideas about how a fight should start. Earthshaker's Fissure can physically block the very angle Windranger needs for her stun to latch onto a second target. More broadly, both heroes provide long-range initiation, which means they can end up overlapping roles instead of complementing each other. Earthshaker is looking for a multi-hero setup, while Windranger is typically focused on bursting a single isolated enemy. Their ideal engagements don't always line up.

This tension plays out across the game. Early ganks can work if the stuns land perfectly, but the real issue emerges in mid-game teamfights. Earthshaker will be trying to find a huge Echo Slam on a clumped-up team, but that's the exact situation where Windranger struggles to find a safe angle for Focus Fire. Conversely, if the enemy is spread out for Windranger to get a pickoff, Earthshaker's ultimate loses a lot of its value. While they can certainly lock down and kill a single target together, they rarely amplify each other's core game plan.
