Ember Spirit + Mirana

Why this works

Picking these two heroes together is a bet on landing your spells. Ember Spirit's Searing Chains can hold a target in place long enough for Mirana to land a Sacred Arrow from off-screen, creating a simple but effective ganking pair. The reverse is also true, with a long-range Arrow giving Ember a free setup for his own combo. Both heroes are highly mobile and want to be active, so they can sync up to hunt for kills around the map. Mirana’s Moonlight Shadow also gives Ember Spirit a great tool for safely initiating or escaping after he has committed his remnants.

The success of this duo really comes down to execution. In the early and mid-game, a few connected stun combos can build a lead and control the map's tempo. The whole plan can fall apart if key abilities are missed, though, leaving both heroes out of position with little to show for it. In late-game teamfights, they don't provide the big, reliable area-of-effect control that some drafts need. Instead, they rely on their mobility and burst damage to pick off isolated targets before or during a fight, which isn't always possible against a coordinated team.
