Ember Spirit + Morphling

Why this works

Putting two greedy cores on one team often creates a resource problem. Both Ember Spirit and Morphling are slippery, damage-focused heroes that need a lot of farm to come online and prefer to play around the map looking for kills. They don't really enable each other. Ember's Searing Chains isn't reliable enough to hold someone down for Morphling, and Morphling's own stun isn't the kind of setup that helps Ember land a full combo. Instead, you have two heroes who both want their supports to provide lockdown, rather than providing it for each other.

This dynamic shapes the whole game. The draft can feel top-heavy, forcing both heroes to compete for safe farm across the map. In teamfights, both heroes excel at skirmishing on the edges of the fight, but neither provides a strong frontline presence or a big, area-of-effect spell to control a chaotic battle. If the opponent groups up and runs at your team, both Ember Spirit and Morphling can struggle to find a good angle of attack. The game plan relies heavily on outmaneuvering and picking off stragglers, which can fall apart against a coordinated team.
