Ember Spirit + Clockwerk

Why this works

Setting up a pickoff with this duo relies on a straightforward pattern. Clockwerk uses Hookshot and Power Cogs to trap an enemy, giving Ember Spirit a stationary target for Searing Chains and Flame Guard. This single-target lockdown is the core of their synergy. The combo can feel a little awkward, though. Ember often wants to hit multiple heroes with Sleight of Fist, but Cogs isolates one enemy and can even block him from reaching other targets. Their abilities combine for a kill, but they don't always flow together smoothly beyond that initial burst.

In the early and mid-game, this allows them to hunt for kills on supports or isolated cores. A successful Hookshot often means a dead enemy. The plan becomes less reliable as the game goes on and teams start moving as a group. Enemies will have save items like Force Staffs to pull allies out of Cogs, leaving Clockwerk vulnerable. If the initial target survives Ember's burst, the fight can turn quickly, as Clockwerk is committed and Ember may be forced to use his Fire Remnants defensively without securing the kill.
