Why this works

Choosing this pair is a bet on a very specific kind of fight. Warlock's Fatal Bonds offers a great setup for Ember Spirit's Sleight of Fist, potentially multiplying his physical damage across the enemy team. A timely Chaotic Offering can also hold targets down for Ember to apply Searing Chains and get a full Flame Guard burn. The main issue is one of tempo. Ember Spirit is built to be constantly active, using Fire Remnants to skirmish across the map, while Warlock's impact is tied to the very long cooldown of his ultimate.

This timing mismatch creates awkward phases in the game. Ember might see a perfect pickoff, but the team can't follow up without the golem. This forces a more passive style, waiting for Chaotic Offering before feeling confident enough to take a full five-on-five engagement. While the damage potential is high when all the pieces align, the two heroes often find themselves on different pages.
