Faceless Void + Lion

Why this works

Setting up a kill inside Chronosphere seems straightforward for this pair. Lion can layer his Hex and Earth Spike on a frozen target, but the truth is that Chronosphere already provides all the control needed. The stuns become redundant. The actual benefit is much more specific: Lion’s Finger of Death. Faceless Void can sometimes lack the raw damage to burst down a priority hero on his own, especially early on. Lion provides that missing single-target nuke, helping to secure a kill on one key hero before the ultimate expires.

This pairing lives and dies by teamfight execution, as they rarely interact during the laning stage. When it works, Faceless Void traps an essential core, and Lion is in position to instantly delete them, swinging the fight. When it fails, Void might catch a low-impact support, or Lion might be out of position, mana, or dead. The entire sequence often depends more on the quality of the Chronosphere than what Lion contributes. This makes their combined impact helpful in the right moments but not something you can rely on to decide every game.
