Faceless Void + Pudge

Why this works

Setting up a Chronosphere for Pudge seems like a good idea on paper. It provides a completely stationary target for Meat Hook and Dismember, which can secure a kill on a priority hero that Faceless Void might not be able to burst alone in the early stages. The problem is that this often requires Pudge to be in a specific position outside the sphere, ready to act. More frequently, Pudge gets caught in the Chronosphere himself, rendering him useless for its duration. The combo can feel redundant later on, as a farmed Void typically doesn't need help killing targets he traps.

This pairing puts a lot of pressure on the early and mid-game. If Pudge isn't successfully creating space and winning other lanes, Faceless Void can get overwhelmed while he tries to farm. Both heroes can have a slow start, and a team with both of them playing from behind feels very weak. Their success hinges on Pudge generating enough tempo for Void to hit his timings. Without that, their big ultimate combination is often too little, too late, which makes their games together feel like a toss-up.
