How Faceless Void and Silencer perform as teammates in Dota 2 7.41f, from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Faceless Void and Silencer win 48.89% of ranked matches when playing on the same team, over 40,931 matches.
Trying to save an ally caught in Chronosphere is often impossible against this pair. Any hero outside the bubble who could use a Force Staff, Glimmer Cape, or defensive spell gets shut down by Global Silence. This usually guarantees Faceless Void can finish his target without interference. Silencer can also contribute a fair amount of pain himself, hitting trapped enemies with Glaives of Wisdom from a safe distance. The combination makes Chronosphere a much more reliable kill tool, as it removes the enemy team's main source of counterplay.
This whole plan depends on both ultimates being available. With such long cooldowns, there are large windows where the synergy doesn't exist and the heroes don't offer each other much. A fight has to be picked carefully around these timings. The enemy team knows this and will try to force action when one of the big spells is down. If they can get a jump on Silencer before a fight, they can also defuse the threat, so his positioning is key to making the combination work.
