Nature's Prophet + Pangolier

Why this works

Picking these two for global pressure and skirmishing feels like it should work, but their core abilities actively trip over each other. Nature's Prophet wants to isolate a target using Sprout, creating a cage of trees for his team to hit. The problem is that those same trees block Pangolier's follow-up. Swashbuckle can't reach a sprouted enemy from the outside, and a Rolling Thunder can get stuck bouncing off allied trees instead of enemy heroes. This core mechanical conflict means one hero's big play often ruins the other's.

This awkwardness defines the game. Early ganks feel clumsy, with the heroes unable to layer their spells effectively for a clean kill. In later teamfights, a stray Sprout can wall off Pangolier entirely or trap him inside his own ultimate, wasting its impact. For this pairing to succeed, Nature's Prophet has to play cautiously with his lockdown, while Pangolier is forced to navigate around his own team's setup. This lack of focused aggression gives opponents plenty of time to reposition and punish the uncoordinated attack.
