Grimstroke + Hoodwink

Why this works

Trying to secure a kill in lane with this duo can feel awkward. Hoodwink wants enemies near trees to land Bushwhack, while Grimstroke needs to run forward with Ink Swell to get a stun. These two conditions rarely line up perfectly. One hero often has to wait for the other to find a perfect opening, or for an enemy to make a major positioning mistake. While they can both harass from a distance, their primary lockdown spells don't naturally set each other up, leading to a lane that can feel more like two solo heroes than a coordinated pair.

This lack of innate synergy continues into teamfights. The partnership's success often hinges entirely on landing a Soulbind on two enemies, followed by a fully-charged Sharpshooter from Hoodwink. While this specific ultimate interaction is powerful, it's also conditional and requires perfect timing from both players. Outside of that one combo, they don't enable each other very well. They are two squishy, damage-oriented heroes who can struggle to survive if jumped on, and they lack the tools to consistently save one another or control a chaotic fight.
