Why this works

Pushing out lanes and securing map control can become a little awkward when both supports want to do the same thing. Grimstroke and Jakiro both excel at clearing creep waves from a distance with their spells, and running them together often creates a competition for farm that could otherwise go to a core. While Soulbind can double up on Jakiro's single-target spells, their key abilities don't always layer cleanly. The combined setup of Ink Swell and Ice Path is slow, giving enemies a chance to react, and landing a perfect Soulbind into Macropyre requires more coordination than it might seem.

This often leads to a game where your team has a lot of wave clear but can feel short on initiation or reliable lockdown. One of the two supports frequently ends up under-leveled, limiting their impact as the game progresses. To succeed, the pair needs to coordinate who farms where, which is easier said than done. An enemy team with good mobility can often split the map and find pickoffs, punishing the slow, telegraphed nature of this duo's spellcasting before they can set up their big area-of-effect combination.
