Jakiro + Phoenix

Why this works

Stacking both Macropyre and Supernova seems powerful, but the damage often overlaps without adding much control. Both Jakiro and Phoenix want to blanket an area in magical damage over time. Unlike a hard lockdown, however, neither ultimate truly holds enemies in place for the other. Enemies are already trying to escape the Supernova, so they are often running out of the Macropyre at the same time. While Jakiro's Ice Path can help pin someone down for a moment, the overall effect is frequently redundant damage rather than a reliable kill setup.

This leaves the team with a predictable game plan centered entirely on area-of-effect magic damage. The enemy team can itemize against this with an early Pipe of Insight, and once Black King Bars appear, both heroes can feel ineffective. The laning phase might feel strong due to the combined slows and constant harass, but the draft often lacks the diverse damage types or single-target lockdown needed to close out games against a prepared opponent. The whole strategy can feel a bit one-dimensional.
