Jakiro + Ursa

Why this works

Picking a partner for Ursa usually means finding lockdown to enable his single-target burst. Jakiro offers control, but it’s the wrong kind for the job. His Ice Path is a delayed stun that’s difficult to land precisely, not the instant, reliable hold Ursa needs to build up Fury Swipes stacks and secure a kill. Their damage timers are also completely misaligned. Ursa wants to end a target in seconds with Overpower, while Jakiro’s spells like Macropyre are designed to burn enemies down over a longer duration in a large area. Their abilities simply don’t amplify each other.

This disconnect shows up all game. During the lane, setting up kills for Ursa is clumsy and unreliable. In mid-game teamfights, the plan falls apart. Ursa will often jump a key hero but find they can easily escape because the follow-up control from Jakiro is too slow or easy to dodge. This leaves Ursa exposed and getting kited while Jakiro is casting area-of-effect spells that don't help lock down the one person his carry needs to kill. The two heroes end up playing their own separate games within the same fight.
