Kez + Necrophos

Why this works

Picking both Kez and Necrophos on the same team can create a conflict in pacing. Kez is designed to be a duelist, using his stance changes and counters to surgically remove a single target from a fight. He wants to find an opening, commit, and win a quick skirmish. Necrophos is the opposite; he wants the teamfight to be a slow, drawn-out brawl where his Heartstopper Aura wears everyone down. He creates a zone of attrition that he wants the enemy to stand and fight in, not a situation for a quick pickoff.

This clash in style means their ideal fights rarely overlap. As a game progresses, Kez often needs to dive the enemy backline to find his duel, separating himself from the core of his team. This leaves Necrophos without a primary physical damage dealer to protect or to clean up enemies he has weakened. An enemy team can exploit this by either bursting the isolated Kez or simply walking away from Necrophos's group. The two heroes end up wanting to execute different game plans, making team-wide coordination feel awkward and forced.
