Kez + Spirit Breaker

Why this works

Playing against this pair can be a headache when Spirit Breaker shows up. His Charge of Darkness provides the perfect lockdown for Kez to close the distance and get to work. As a melee duelist, Kez thrives when a target is held in place for him, letting him unload his damage without needing to chase. The issue is that this setup is entirely dependent on positioning. Kez has no real way to join a fight from across the map, so if he isn't already shadowing Spirit Breaker, the gank often ends with a lone initiator getting turned on.

This tension defines their partnership throughout the game. Spirit Breaker wants to create chaos and fight constantly, while Kez needs time and space to farm the items required of a carry. Successful rotations require them to be on the same page, coordinating their movements to pick off a specific target. More often, they can end up on opposite sides of the map, playing at different tempos. In later teamfights, if Kez follows the charge into a prepared team, he can be focused and burst down, leaving his initiator without a damage source.
