How Kez and Templar Assassin perform as teammates in Dota 2 7.41f, from ranked matches.

Putting two heroes together who excel at one-on-one fights feels like a good idea, but the reality is they get in each other's way. Kez and Templar Assassin both want to be the star of the mid-game, finding solo pickoffs to snowball into the late game. They end up competing for the same farm and the same vulnerable targets, making the draft feel incredibly greedy. Neither one offers the kind of teamfight control or hard lockdown that the other needs to function against a grouped-up enemy. Instead of one setting up the other, you have two heroes who both want someone else to do the setup.

These rows use the last 30 days of quality-filtered ranked matches, all patches in that span combined — a wider window than the patch-scoped count above, so the per-rank match totals can exceed it.
