Why this works

Controlling the pace of the game can be tricky for this duo, as they don't have a lot of inherent synergy in their timings or fight preferences. Warlock’s teamfight presence with Fatal Bonds and Chaotic Offering is built around punishing enemies who are grouped together. He wants to create a large, chaotic brawl where his area-of-effect spells can do the most work. Kez, by contrast, is a duelist who wants to split the fight apart. He excels at using his stances to isolate and dispatch a single target, and is most comfortable in a one-on-one situation where his parry is most effective.

This tension plays out in mid-game teamfights. If the enemy team groups up to push a tower, it’s a perfect setup for Warlock’s ultimate, but a difficult scenario for Kez to find a clean entry. On the other hand, if the enemy team spreads out to make it harder for the Golem to land, Kez can find the duels he wants, but Warlock’s impact is severely limited. For the pair to succeed, they need very specific setups, like using Warlock’s Upheaval to zone an area while Kez finds a fight on the edge, which can be awkward to coordinate.
