Kunkka + Tidehunter

Why this works

Facing down a Ravage can feel like a death sentence, and following it with a Ghostship and Torrent only makes it worse. Tidehunter provides a massive, reliable stun that gives Kunkka a perfect setup for his own abilities. Gush also reduces armor, making Kunkka’s physical damage from Tidebringer hit harder on key targets. The theory is a simple, effective lockdown and burst combo that should be able to win a teamfight on its own.

The problem is that both Ravage and Ghostship are huge, long-cooldown ultimates. Using them together on the same targets can be overkill; often, a successful Ravage is enough to win the fight without needing the Ghostship at all. This leaves your team with very few major spells for a long time afterward. If the enemy survives or has buybacks, you're left exposed. The success of this pairing often comes down to single, decisive teamfights where everything lands perfectly. If opponents can split the map or bait out one ultimate before the other is ready, the combo's power fades quickly.
