Why this works

Getting caught out alone during the first night against this pair is a tough spot. Night Stalker brings the vision reduction and Crippling Fear, which silences a target and prevents them from using their escape spells. This creates a window for Legion Commander to close the distance, apply Overwhelming Odds, and lock the enemy down with Duel. While the silenced hero can still use defensive items, the limited vision and immediate pressure from two aggressive heroes makes it very difficult to react in time. The target is isolated and often can't be saved by their team.

This duo puts immense pressure on the map as soon as the game clock hits the first nighttime. Legion Commander and Night Stalker will look to coordinate ganks to snowball an early advantage, hunting for easy Duel damage. Success depends heavily on that first night cycle. If they can secure a few key kills, Legion can get out of control. However, if the enemy team plays safe, groups up, and survives the night, this combo's momentum stalls. Both heroes rely on getting ahead early, and if their initial aggression fails, they can struggle to catch up.
