Legion Commander + Pudge

Why this works

Seeing these two together suggests a simple Hook-into-Duel combo, but the real strength is in how Pudge controls the entire engagement. A successful Hook can isolate a target, making it much safer for Legion Commander to initiate a Duel without overextending. Once the Duel begins, Pudge provides backup lockdown. He can use Dismember on the Duel target to ensure Legion Commander wins, or he can use it to stop a key enemy hero from saving their ally. The constant damage and slow from Rot also helps wear the opponent down, tipping the scales in an otherwise even fight.

This pairing is strongest when playing for picks around the map. A successful gank gives Legion Commander permanent damage, letting her snowball into a late-game threat. The plan is very direct, however, and can be played around. Smart opponents will stick together to make single-target pickoffs difficult and use vision to avoid the gank squad. Because both heroes rely on hitting their spells and can struggle if they fall behind, the combo can feel very boom-or-bust. If the early aggression doesn't connect, the enemy team can often seize control of the map.
