Lina + Lion

Why this works

Picking these two together looks like a plan to delete one key enemy hero. Lion's instant stuns from Earth Spike or Hex provide a perfect setup for Lina's delayed Light Strike Array, locking a target down for an extended period. The problem is what comes next. Both heroes bring massive, single-target magical burst with Finger of Death and Laguna Blade. This much damage on one hero is often overkill, and since it’s all the same damage type, it’s easier for opponents to itemize against with a single Pipe of Insight or personal magic resistance. Their strengths are too redundant.

This combo can work for picking off isolated heroes in the early and mid-game, but it often struggles as teams start to group up. Both Lina and Lion are fragile backliners who need good positioning to be effective. In a full teamfight, they might use all their spells to kill one target, only for the rest of the enemy team to overwhelm them. The strategy is predictable and falls apart against teams with multiple saves, strong initiation, or anyone who buys a Black King Bar. The duo simply lacks the versatility to handle more complex fights.
