Lina + Omniknight

Why this works

Keeping Lina alive through the mid-game is what Omniknight is here for. A well-timed Heavenly Grace lets Lina shrug off disables and continue attacking, while Guardian Angel completely shuts down physical heroes trying to jump on her. This defensive pairing allows Lina to take more aggressive farm and stand her ground in fights. The problem is that this synergy is entirely one-way and reactive. Omniknight offers very little to help Lina actually land her stun or secure a kill, and their preferred positioning is often at odds. He wants to be in the thick of it, she wants to be on the edge.

This duo creates a safe spot on the map but doesn't necessarily create pressure. Smart opponents will often avoid fighting into the Omniknight protection, instead opting to split-push or attack your other teammates. The game plan for this pairing is to force objectives and make the enemy come to you. If the enemy draft has no choice but to run at your team, Lina can freely deal damage from behind the safety of Omniknight's buffs. If they can play around your fortified position, you may find yourself losing the map while waiting for a fight that never comes.
