Lina + Phoenix

Why this works

Competing for farm across the map can leave this pair feeling a bit disjointed. Lina often wants to accelerate her item timings, while Phoenix needs consistent experience to make his teamfight abilities impactful. This can create a small amount of tension over who gets to occupy safe farming space. While Lina’s Light Strike Array can theoretically set up for Phoenix’s spells, the combo isn't always smooth without another hero providing a more reliable initiation. Both heroes bring a lot of magic damage, but they don't offer much lockdown or control beyond that initial burst.

The entire game plan can feel like it hinges on Supernova. In a good fight, Lina has all her spells ready to defend the egg, using her stun and Laguna Blade to eliminate a key threat. In a bad fight, the enemy team simply saves their cooldowns, turns on the egg, and kills Phoenix for free while Lina's damage isn't enough to stop them. This makes your team's strategy somewhat predictable. The enemy has a clear objective to focus in teamfights, forcing your success to rely on perfect execution.
