Lina + Troll Warlord

Why this works

Pairing Lina's spell burst with Troll Warlord's physical damage seems straightforward. The idea is that a Light Strike Array sets up an easy kill for Troll. In practice, their kits can feel redundant. Both heroes excel at blowing up a single, isolated target but offer little for each other beyond that. When Troll Warlord commits with Battle Trance, he's completely focused on his target and can't protect his backline. Lina, in turn, is a fragile hero who provides no defensive support or wider teamfight control to help Troll survive after his ultimate or deal with other threats.

This dynamic often leads to feast-or-famine engagements. If the duo gets a clean jump on a key enemy, they can delete them instantly. However, smarter opponents will exploit this all-in nature. They can bait out Troll's ultimate, kite him, and then turn on the vulnerable Lina who is usually positioned far behind him. The lane might feel strong with their combined damage, but the partnership doesn't scale well into teamfights where coordinated control and defensive utility become more important than simply adding more single-target burst.
