Lina + Windranger

Why this works

Landing burst damage on a single target is the main goal for both of these heroes, but they don't help each other achieve it. Lina needs a reliable stun to guarantee her Light Strike Array connects, and Windranger is looking for an easy setup for her Shackleshot. Neither hero provides that for the other. Instead, you have two heroes trying to land two difficult skillshots back-to-back. While a successful chain is lethal, the lack of a simple, instant stun from either one makes their combined ganking potential surprisingly awkward and unreliable from the start.

This setup issue forces a very rigid game plan. The team ends up with two greedy, glass-cannon cores who both want to farm similar items and then hunt for solo kills. If this plan works early, you can build a lead, but opponents can counter it by grouping up. Once five-man fights begin, the limitations of having both Lina and Windranger become clear. The lineup lacks a durable frontliner, reliable initiation, or sustained teamfight control, leaving you with two heroes who can only threaten one target at a time with Laguna Blade and Focus Fire.
