Lion + Naga Siren

Why this works

Setting up a kill with Song of the Siren looks simple, but the execution is often clunky. While Naga Siren can freeze the fight, it gives the enemy team a clear signal of who Lion is targeting. When the song ends, the target is still mobile and can react with an escape or a defensive item before Lion’s spells connect. His Earth Spike has a travel time, and Hex has a cast animation. This small window is often enough for an enemy to survive what seems like a guaranteed death, making the setup less reliable than it appears on paper. It's a plan that requires perfect timing from both players.

In practice, this means the combo is best for securing planned pickoffs on an isolated target. Naga Siren can use her net to hold someone for Lion to arrive and follow up. In chaotic teamfights, however, their priorities often split. Lion wants to find a single hero to delete from the fight with his burst, but Naga may need to use her ultimate defensively to save a core or reset a bad engagement. Since their game-winning spells don't always align, the partnership doesn't consistently create a clear advantage.
