Lion + Nyx Assassin

Why this works

Pairing these two heroes for ganks seems like an obvious choice, but the reality is that they often overlap too much. While a Vendetta opening into Nyx Assassin's Impale and Lion's Earth Spike provides a long lockdown chain for a single target, both heroes are dedicated to the same job. They excel at deleting one person from the map but offer very little if that initial attempt fails or if the enemy team is grouped up. This focus on single-target burst leaves your team with poor wave clear and limited teamfight presence beyond their initial spell rotation.

The early and mid-game for this duo are about finding isolated heroes and creating pressure through pickoffs. Lion can follow up Nyx's initiation from a distance, securing kills that build a lead. However, this strategy starts to lose steam when opponents group as five to push towers. Both heroes struggle to defend against coordinated pushes and their impact plummets once key enemies get a Black King Bar. Their entire game plan revolves around that initial burst, and if the other team can play around it, Lion and Nyx have a hard time contributing effectively later on.
