Lion + Puck

Why this works

Drafting this pair often feels like you're doubling down on a single strategy instead of creating a balanced team. Both heroes bring a lot of magic burst and control, but they don't amplify each other effectively. Lion wants to lock down a single target and delete them with Finger of Death. Puck wants to initiate a chaotic fight, silence multiple enemies, and force them to stay put with Dream Coil. The issue is that Lion’s hard stuns can prevent enemies from breaking the Dream Coil leash, nullifying a big part of its threat.

This overlap means the enemy team has a very clear path to victory: buy magic resistance. An early Pipe of Insight or even just a few Glimmer Capes can neutralize the duo's entire impact. As the game goes on, Lion and Puck both struggle against Black King Bar. Without a strong source of physical damage from another core, the team will find it hard to secure kills on key targets or take objectives like Roshan and towers, even after a successful gank. They create a big mid-game timing that is unfortunately very easy to counter.
