Lion + Ringmaster

Why this works

Getting pulled in by Ringmaster's contraption only to get hit by Lion’s Earth Spike right after feels like a death sentence. The theory is sound: one hero sets up the trap, the other provides the follow-up stun and burst damage. The issue is that both heroes are filling a very similar role. They offer immense single-target control, but this can lead to redundant stuns on one hero while others run free. Both are also relatively fragile and lack mobility, making them a vulnerable pair if a gank is turned against them or they are caught out of position.

During the laning phase, this duplication of control can secure kills, but it also means both heroes have committed their key spells to a single target. As the game progresses, teams tend to group up, and having two heroes dedicated to locking down one enemy becomes less impactful. An enemy team can often bait out the combined stuns from Lion and Ringmaster on a durable front-liner, then counter-initiate on the rest of their team while key spells are on cooldown. The lockdown is powerful, but often inefficient.
