Lion + Sand King

Why this works

Pairing two Blink-initiators together often creates a very all-in draft. Lion provides excellent setup, using his stuns to guarantee Sand King lands a full Epicenter. The lockdown from Earth Spike into Burrowstrike can feel inescapable. The problem is that both heroes are filling the same role of magic burst and control. Committing both to one target is effective but often redundant, using two kits where one might have sufficed. This forces the rest of your team to cover every other need, from sustained damage to defensive saves, making the composition feel very specialized.

Early ganks are where this duo shines, layering spells to delete an isolated hero. As teams group up, the plan becomes riskier. A successful jump might kill one enemy, but it leaves both Lion and Sand King deep in the fight with their main spells used. If the enemy team is spread out or survives the initial burst, the combo falls flat, leaving your team without its primary playmakers. The game plan relies entirely on getting that perfect jump and snowballing before opponents can properly respond to the threat.
