Lion + Weaver

Why this works

Facing down a gank from this pair often feels less coordinated than it should. Lion wants to lock down a single enemy and delete them with Finger of Death, a plan that works best against one isolated hero. Weaver also excels at picking off single targets, but he chips them down with sustained physical damage from Shukuchi and Geminate Attack. The problem is that Lion’s full magical burst combo doesn't leave much for Weaver to do. By the time Hex and Finger are done, the target is often already dead, leaving Weaver’s damage potential feeling redundant on that kill.

This inefficiency gets worse as the game goes on. In larger teamfights, Lion might secure one quick kill, but he offers Weaver very little protection afterward. Weaver is a squishy hero who relies on his own Time Lapse to survive, and he really benefits from supports who can create space or provide saves. Since Lion’s kit is entirely focused on offense and single-target lockdown, he can't offer that peel. This leaves Weaver vulnerable after the initial burst, allowing enemies to turn and focus him down while Lion's long cooldowns refresh.
