Lone Druid + Pudge

Why this works

A successful Hook on the Spirit Bear can be a decent way to start a fight. It lets Lone Druid's bear close the gap instantly, hopefully landing an Entangling Claws on a key target that Pudge might have otherwise missed. This trick is not always practical, though. It demands good timing from both players and means Pudge is not using his Hook to initiate on an enemy hero directly. Getting the positioning right for this play without giving away the plan can be awkward, and a misplaced bear can be a wasted cooldown for both heroes.

This interaction is mostly about creating picks around the map before big objectives. Pudge looks for an opening, and the bear-hook offers a way to lock down mobile targets that might otherwise escape Dismember. The problem is that Lone Druid often wants to be split-pushing and farming, while Pudge is looking to force action with his team. Their natural game plans can diverge. When it comes to sieging high ground, saving the bear with a Hook can be useful, but a coordinated enemy team can often burst the bear before Pudge can react, leaving the whole plan in tatters.
