Lone Druid + Skywrath Mage

Why this works

Getting rooted by the Spirit Bear is a death sentence with a Skywrath Mage on the team. Lone Druid provides exactly what Skywrath needs to be effective: long-duration lockdown. The Entangling Claws from the bear holds a target in place long enough for Skywrath to unload his entire arsenal, including a full Mystic Flare. The bear also acts as a durable front-line presence, drawing attention and creating space for a fragile hero like Skywrath Mage to safely position himself in fights. Lone Druid finds the target, and Skywrath deletes it.

This duo excels at securing pickoffs and controlling the map during the mid-game. The Lone Druid player will often split-push or scout with the bear, looking for an opportunity to catch someone out of position. Once a root lands, that hero is usually gone. The best response from the enemy team is to stay grouped to avoid isolation, or to have a hero who can instantly jump and burst Skywrath Mage before he can react. If they can’t deal with Skywrath quickly, the pair will systematically take heroes off the map before any real teamfight can begin.
