Marci + Necrophos

Why this works

Thinking about them as a burst-and-sustain pairing misses the point of what actually happens. Marci brings the one thing Necrophos needs to be truly effective: reliable setup. A good Rebound into Dispose grabs a target and holds them in place, giving Necrophos a wide-open window to apply his spells. This makes it much easier to land a decisive Reaper's Scythe on a key hero who might otherwise have an escape. Marci’s control turns Necrophos from a slow-grinding drain tank into a hero who can actively punish a single target.

The duo’s strength comes from their ability to find pickoffs around the map, especially in the mid-game. Marci will typically look for an opening to jump and stun a lone enemy, allowing Necrophos to follow up for the finish. In response, opponents have to play with more respect, staying grouped and maintaining better vision to avoid giving up these free kills. The strategy isn't foolproof, as it relies on catching someone out of position, but the constant threat forces the other team to play more defensively and can create the space needed to secure an advantage.
