Marci + Skywrath Mage

Why this works

Committing two heroes to single-target burst can leave your team feeling a bit poor. Both Marci and Skywrath Mage excel at deleting one hero, but they don't farm quickly or clear waves well. This means that if their initial gank attempts fail, they struggle to recover. The plan is usually for Marci to set things up with a stun from Rebound, allowing Skywrath to land a full Mystic Flare. The issue is that both heroes need kills to fund their next items, and if those kills don't happen, the team's map control and overall net worth tend to suffer as a result.

The early laning phase feels like a race against the clock. Marci and Skywrath have to secure kills before the enemy can get levels and defensive items. If the opponents play safe, this duo can find themselves underfarmed and unable to execute their combo on more durable targets. Coordinated enemies will group up to negate the pickoff potential, forcing teamfights where this pair's influence wanes after their initial burst. Even the setup itself can be tricky; a poorly aimed Dispose from Marci can accidentally save an enemy by throwing them out of Skywrath’s ultimate, turning a kill into a whiff.
