Why this works

Thinking of this pair as a guaranteed gank machine is a common mistake. On paper, Spirit Breaker’s Charge of Darkness is a perfect taxi for Marci to Rebound into a fight. She can apply Sidekick, and they can focus down a single stunned hero. The issue is that their kits are often redundant. Both offer single-target physical lockdown, and stacking a Dispose on top of a Charge stun is often overkill. This leaves the duo vulnerable, as a single save item on their target can foil the entire plan, leaving two melee heroes out of position.

Early on, this lane can create pressure by running at one hero repeatedly. A successful gank from Spirit Breaker can snowball into an objective with Marci's help. The problem arises later if the enemy team starts grouping. Neither hero excels at clearing waves or fighting into multiple opponents, so they can be outmaneuvered on the map if their pickoffs fail. Their game plan depends on converting that aggression into an advantage, because they lack a strong fallback for sustained five-on-five teamfights.
