Why this works

Casting Sidekick on Weaver highlights the fundamental mismatch between these two heroes. Marci wants to find a target, jump in with Rebound, and create a brutal, close-quarters brawl where her buff provides the edge. Weaver, however, is one of the last heroes who wants to stand his ground and trade punches. His entire kit is about avoiding commitment. He uses Shukuchi to stay mobile and Time Lapse to erase mistakes, meaning he's often repositioning or backing out right when Marci wants to press the attack. The lifesteal from Sidekick is less valuable on a hero who plans to undo all damage taken anyway.

This dynamic leads to disjointed and ineffective teamfights. Marci will often find a good initiation, expecting her carry to follow up, but Weaver is too fragile to dive in with her. Enemies can easily exploit this by focusing Weaver the moment he appears, forcing an early Time Lapse and leaving Marci stranded deep in their formation. Without a partner who can commit to her all-in aggression, Marci’s own impact is cut short. The pair simply operate on different tempos, making it difficult to coordinate their damage and turning potential ganks into failed, split-up engagements.
