Morphling + Techies

Why this works

Morphing into Techies gives Morphling access to a long-range AoE silence with Blast Off. This is a big deal for a carry who normally has to Waveform right into a fight. He can instead initiate from a safe distance, silence key enemies, and then commit with his own damage. The added utility of a Sticky Bomb for chasing is a nice bonus, but the main draw is having a huge teamfight-shaping spell. This allows Morphling to set up his own kills in a way he normally can't, turning him into a temporary initiator before he swaps back to start hitting things.

The general game plan involves Techies creating a safe farming environment for Morphling with his mines, which naturally helps protect against early ganks. In return, once Morphling has his ultimate, the team gains a powerful initiation tool to break stalemates. The synergy isn't overwhelming, though, because Morphling often has better Morph targets that provide hard stuns or more direct damage. The space Techies makes is good for any carry, not just him. It’s a solid pairing with a good trick up its sleeve, but it doesn't always create a massive advantage on its own.
