How Morphling and Templar Assassin perform as teammates in Dota 2 7.41f, from ranked matches.
In Dota 2 7.41f, Morphling and Templar Assassin win 44.37% of ranked matches when playing on the same team, over 4,870 matches.
Farming the map for core items gets incredibly crowded with this pair. Both Morphling and Templar Assassin are resource-intensive cores who want to occupy the safest farm available. Templar Assassin needs to hit her Desolator timing and snowball, which means clearing jungle stacks and taking over parts of the map. At the same time, Morphling needs that exact same space and gold to build up his own core items. This direct competition for resources often means one of them will fall behind schedule. Without a dedicated frontliner to create space for two such greedy heroes, the team composition is too fragile and can be run over long before either carry is ready to fight.

These rows use the last 30 days of quality-filtered ranked matches, all patches in that span combined — a wider window than the patch-scoped count above, so the per-rank match totals can exceed it.
