Muerta + Nyx Assassin

Why this works

Hunting for a pickoff with this duo can seem straightforward. Nyx Assassin finds a target with Vendetta and locks it down with Impale, giving Muerta a stationary victim to unload on. The problem is that both heroes are specialists in single-target burst damage. While they can certainly delete one enemy hero from the fight, it's often an inefficient use of resources. Instead of one hero setting up another to do something they couldn't otherwise do, you have two heroes doing the same job on the same target, which can be overkill.

The success of this pairing hinges on whether they can secure those pickoffs before larger teamfights begin. If they can repeatedly catch heroes out of position, they can control the map. But once teams start moving as a group of five, this advantage fades. In a full engagement, their combined focus on one hero leaves them vulnerable to the rest of the enemy team. If the enemy saves their initial target or simply turns on Muerta after her ultimate ends, the fight is often lost right there.
